A cut above

The below pics are from an editorial in the latest UK Dazed & Confused magazine and I thought I'd post on them because I reckon they're really cool. What do you think? P.S. I'm planning on going to central America later in the year and I'm properly excited! x

Lily and the mystery model

Life's sucked a bit since being back in the UK hence the lack of posting. Sorry. My uncle, however, cheered me up slightly on the weekend when he gave me a cool black fedora hat. I'll clarify that he didn't buy it with me in mind, he just has an enormous head! Meanwhile, my head is conveniently normal-sized. Ah, the dilemmas of internet shopping! Anyway, I got a cool hat out of it. Will post on it later I'm sure, now it's too dark to take any photos outside and I've bloody well got to go to work during the day! Sheesh! So this here is my beautiful niece Lily. She is interspersed with photos of this model with a banana who I initially thought was Natalia Vodianova, because my sisters and I all think Lilz looks like her, but now I actually don't think it is. Anyway, this model also looks like her. Not bad Lilz, looking like two supermodels!! And she's only 11! x 

London still

I am back in London. The honeymoon is over. We got in at 6.30 yesterday morning and James and I both went in to work. Urgh! We crashed out at 9 o'clock last night and around midnight I woke up to go to the loo but had no idea where I was. I felt around one of the walls for a door, thinking I must be in my nephew Tom's room where we stayed for the majority of our time in Sydney, but it wasn't there. Then felt around another wall, assuming I must be in the study or one of neices' rooms. Confused and busting, I finally found the door and walked out tentatively. It wasn't until I saw my egg chairs in the living room that I realised I was back in our flat. Woah! Scary stuff, jetlag!! I also dreamed that James was a terrorist and two of my school friend staged a hold up at my Thai restaurant. Yes, I owned a thai restaurant?!! Anyway, it's not snowing in London at least. Actually, right this minute the sun is shining. x

Sea, surf and crabs

James and I went out on our friend Sam's parents' boat last week, which is moored in Dunsborough, about two and a half hours south of Perth. We jumped on around 11am then drove the boat to Meelup beach where the water was incredible! The Davies stuffed us full of super fresh crab, which Sam and his brother Tim caught with their bare hands. Here is James getting stuck in! x

Moooooooooooooooooooooooo

We've just got back from my folks' new farm in Manjimup, three hours south of Perth and here are some recently acquired members of my family for you to meet. Aren't they cuties? My parents bought the property around May and as well as having beef cattle they are poised to plant a commercial avocado orchard. They also have a beautiful damn full of freshwater crayfish which we caught and gobbled in the space of about 20 minutes on Saturday night - not bad! They are kind of going back to their roots as I was born on a marron and avocado farm. The place is stunning, with a karri forest on one side and vineyard on another, and has incredible vistas from the little house they're preparing to overhaul. They're going to buy some chooks for eggs and bake their own bread and be altogether pretty twee! Anyway, no fashion here but I thought I'd post a few photos of my new home and my new rellies! P.S. The third shot's my Dad, proudly giving us a tour of his land! x

North Cottesloe beach...

... before the shark sightings. Eek! Yep, six tiger sharks were spotted trawling the coastline yesterday and Cottesloe, North Cottesloe and Swanbourne beaches were closed. We were back down there today though, like troopers. It's just too beautiful! Sorry to those who are plodding their way through snow in London!! Although the little story I just told would probably have turned you off, no? x

Bananas in pyjamas

This is the Acne dress I mentioned the other day (and me fearing for my life on my nieces' trampoline after several lethal new year's eve lychee martinis - oops!) So two new dresses in two consecutive posts? Yep, I've been splurging a little and have only now realised how devastatingly dreadful the exchange rate is! Damn you pound! Do you like the stripes? For the non-Aussies Bananas in Pyjamas is a kids TV show where the main characters are, you guessed it, bananas who wear pyjamas. And those pyjamas look remarkably like my dress - ha! It's pretty full on and attracts a fair amount of attention but I think it's rad and am very excited to be the proud owner of some Acne goodies finally. I adored the Acne store (it's just down from Ksubi on Glenmore Road in Paddington) and could have bought the whole range. I got lost en route to the Paris one when I was there in December so was thrilled to make it this time, with my Christmas cash in hand! Why isn't there an Acne in London I wonder? x
