Just Cos

These wedges from Cos are awesome. I love the wooden heel and the height although I reckon I'd break an ankle. They're a little pricey for me at £129 so I might hit them up in the post-Christmas sale (or get a mate to as I'll be in Sydney!!) They'd look hot with a little dress and tights or skinny jeans. I was back at work today although I'm still suffering this bitch of a cold. I must admit the social interaction was a nice change - I was going slowly mad at home by myself! x

Cupcakes

I met a few friends, Julie, Lucie and Jade, at Ottolenghi on Upper St for lunch today and as usual it was amazing. I didn't actually eat one of these lovelies but don't they look delicious? I had a selection of four tasty salads - a couscous one with pistachios, one with squash, pine nuts and a gorgonzola dressing, an aubergine one with feta and a beetroot number. Anyway, this is Julie and Lucie. They're glamourous Parisians I met years ago when I was traveling around Spain. They're in London for a whirlwind weekend and I'm heading to Paris next week so I'll get to see them twice in two weeks! Well actually three times as they're coming round for tea tonight, along with Jade and her boyfriend Chris and Tanya and Rich. Better get the dinner on!!! P.S Lucie had the most gorgeous Zara short sleeved cape style coat on. She was shy so I didn't take a picture but I might tonight? x

Alexa's locks

So, as I've said already, my number one girl crush is Garance (who took this lovely photo) but coming a close second is Alexa Chung. Apart from her awesome what seems like effortless style I adore her hair and am thinking of getting mine cut in a similar way - I have an appointment in a few weeks in Sydney which I am unbelievably excited about as my hair is so mousy and unkempt! What do you think? The only problem is that my locks are dead straight - I reckon Ms Chung has a bit of a natural wave - and I am so not a high maintenance fille when it comes to haircare. Oh f*$^ it - I'll give it a go! Will show you the results - if it doesn't look horrendous! P.S. am feeling slightly better today although still on the couch. Sniff, sniff. x

An ode to the brogue

I know I've been kicking off all my posts with I love this, I love that but I really, really, really have fallen for these babies. I got my lovely Steven Madden brogues in New York the other week and while they initially ripped my feet to shreds they are now amazingly comfy and I've barely taken them off. Brogues are the perfect autumn/winter shoe. I dabbled in ballet pumps but got perennially pissed off when it rained because they would dissolve like cardboard. They also always slipped off. But my brogues, oh my brogues, with their lovely laces they don't fall off even when I'm running for the bus. And I can jump in puddles as they have an actual, solid sole - hallelujah!! I am an utter convert and as such brogues will be my shoe of choice for a while to come I believe. x

I heart this coat

I adore this Acne coat. If I had a spare £425 and didn't splurge on two lovely and fairly exy coats last year I would probably charge my card with this number despite the fact I'll be basking in the Australian sun for a third of winter. I could spend all day on the Acne website and I love the Acne collaboration with Lanvin. Oh dear, maybe I should become a fund manager to afford all my vices?

Schillers

Schillers Liquor Bar I love you. Can you give me a job please? And um... a visa? And some more of those damn fine french fries!!! If you're ever in the Lower East Side (I hate you, but aside from that) visit the good people at Schillers. But make sure your wine is cheap. Not decent and heaven forbid not good!

world. oyster.

A couple more boring pics. So since being ill I have properly discovered Spotify. It's fantastic. I've had loads of ipods in the past but most I have managed to break or get nicked so I always end up losing my music. Which is devastating, obviously! I used to have a bunch of cds but they didn't make the cut when packing to move to London. Anyway, I've been rediscovering loads of the stuff I had on my ipod - whoop whoop! A little of the knife, spiced up with some yeah, yeah, yeahs, death cab and the XX. The musical world is my oyster and all for free!

Twin peaks

This is a great book/magazine called Twin that a mate at work lent me to while away the hours full of coughing/sneezing/spluttering. This is the first edition and it will be published twice a year with the seasons. It is thick like a book and as it doesn't have a single ad in it I think it's fair enough they call it one. Also, it's around £20 - a bit more than you'd pay for your average mag, right? Anyway, I love this issue as it has an interview with my girl crush Garance Dore in it and some of her best pics and illustrations. Check it out! www.twinfactory.co.uk

Sick bed

Been off work sick all week and seeing it's Thursday I'm beginning to feel immensely bored. Hence resorting to taking pictures of my reflection. I should probably rid my boredom by cleaning the mirror. Gross!!
