On Broadway

Jade and Chris have been over from Paris this weekend and yesterday, while Christophe was visiting his brand new nephew Alfie (bless), Jade and I hit up Broadway Market and Columbia Road as I hadn't been there in yonks either. Note Jade sporting the fur she bought at the flea market when I was in Paris! On Friday night I met up with her and a few other mates, in honour of my new flatmate Daisy's birthday, at the Victoria & Albert museum in South Kensington where the last Friday of the month they open late and have a DJ and bar. It was really good fun, even if we didn't manage to see any art! That plus a massive Thursday and a pretty boozy Saturday have spelled a heavy weekend so I'm off for a nap. x

Art of the Trench

It's Spring now - in my book anyway, I don't get these crazy Brits! - so along with a million other punters I am on the hunt for the perfect trench coat. Alright so clearly there is only one place to go for the perfect trench and you know as well as me that I ain't setting foot in there! But I still want one that's classic and cut well so tips would be muchly appreciated trenchlovers! I've never actually owned a trench but this time each year I get trench envy when the sophisticated outer garment pops up with the daffodils in the commons. And Burberry's Art Of The Trench project has given me extra inspiration to buy one this time around! In their words the project is a living document of the trench coat and the people who wear it. It is a collaboration between Burberry and some of the world's leading photographers. The dedicated website will feature a series of specially commissioned trench portraits by fashion and street style snappers starting off with The Satorialist's Scott Schuman aka Garance's fella. The photos above are from this collection - cool huh! Maybe if I pick up my trench now I can join the trench coat hall of fame!! Check it out here.

Cos I need it

I love this necklace from Cos. I spotted it the other day while perusing the new Westfield in Shepherds Bush. It was a little pricey but I've decided to treat myself so I'm going to try to snap it up at the Regents Street store today. I'm sure it will be sold out though as Cos always sells out of everything I want! I'm still a little sore after missing out on the boots... Have a great weekend! x

Camden

This is Camden, my new hood. I was feeling the blur so apologies if you can't make anything out. I’ve been at the new flat about three weeks and I'm really starting to like being a Camdenite. It's always buzzing around here and the Canal is really pretty and will be fun in summer. We’re a short walk to Primrose Hill, which affords lovely views of the whole of London (estate agent speech!). I have also found my cycling route, which goes straight through Regents Park and takes all of 20 minutes! Our place is looking more and more homely too, and my room is looking like the dump I'm familiar with. The weather has been super warm this week, which has been getting me tres excited for summer and my darling friend Marnie has just got back from Australia, whoop! x

The view from the top

Sorry, I've obviously not taken any new photos for ages and am scraping the barrel with leftover Paris ones but I love this photo, which Nina must have taken, from up at Montmartre, just near the Sacre Coeur. Not a bad view, and Paris looks nice too, he he! I'll get snapping this weekend, plus I've booked a trip to Morocco so should get some interesting ones there, whoop! x

Colette and Coco

This is Colette, an awesome boutique/gallery of clothes on rue saint-honore in Paris. Do you dig my reflection work? Thanks. Check it out if you're ever in town, if not just for the people-watching as I doubt you'll be able to afford the clothes! I'm reckoning on another Paris weekender to visit Jade in late May? Why not, oui? PS. I've named my laptop Coco, after my sister's cat. Don't really know why? I guess it is a pet of sorts? (LOSER!) x

Je ne sais quoi

Here's some rad photos of Lou Doillon taken by Julia Champeau. She's wearing Anthony Vaccarello's designs. I want to be as cool as her, it's probably the whole French thing. The bloody effortless chic. The je ne sais quoi. Grr! PS. I'm blogging from my sexy new MacBook. I love it! I think I'll give it a name to show my love. Hmm... x

Seeing red

I had my eye on a gorgeous red silk dress from David Lawrence when I was in Australia but I couldn't find it in my size at the store I was at as it was on sale. So I forgot about it. Then I saw this photograph, taken by Scott Schuman aka the Satorialist at Rio fashion week, and all of a sudden I had to have that dress. I hauled up the list of stores on the David Lawrence website and called every one until I found my size - I think got the last dress in Sydney! Then I hot-footed it over to pick it up and wore it out that night. Yahoo! There's nothing like a red dress to make you feel a bit spesh. Obviously a Brazilian-esque tan like the one above always helps! x
