Calla cameleon

I just stumbled upon these lovely designs from Paris-based, Canadian Calla Haynes. I was home from work with a cold today so read Vogue, which featured a small article on her new label Calla, (oh and watched Twilight for the second time in as many weeks... I'm hooked! Who's with me?) Haynes, who has worked at Rochas and Nina Ricci, defines her clothes as "coy and sexy" and I'd have to agree. I love the pastel colours, the patterns and the cuts of the trousers and bodices, and want the whole lot! So I'm moving on the weekend to a flat in Camden with my friend Joanna. It will be cool to explore a new corner of London although I'll miss my place in Highbury - I've been happy here. Oh well, life goes on I guess. Anyone got a van? x

Paris?

I was in Paris again on the weekend, this time to visit my dear friend Jade who moved there about a month ago, and celebrate her 25th birthday. I had such a wonderful time. I've been a bit miserable lately but the weekend really cheered me up, temporarily if not permanently, and I realised how much I'd been missing Jade. Anyway, it was my fifth time in Paris and I thought I knew it fairly well but Jade and her boyfriend Chris have got to know it like the back of their hands through trawling around searching for a flat. They're struggling, unfortunately.(I'm crossing my fingers for you guys!) So because I was with a local, well sort of, we explored loads of areas I hadn't before and stumbled across cool things like this flea market in Oberkampf. Jade snapped up a bargainous fur from the rack above. So now I'm thinking of moving to Paris? What do you reckon? Oui? x

Bloomin' heck

Perhaps it's because I am fed up to the back teeth with winter - I know, I know I had a month off in Australia but that was like an age ago now - but I am digging the bouquet of blooms splattered all over London label Erdem's S/S 2010 collection more and more as days pass. The floral patterns and uber feminine cuts are inducing Alice in Wonderland-esque day dreams at my desk. Come to think of it, my lovely friend Tan is having a mad hatters tea party in the not too distant future, for one of her many hen dos (bridezilla, ha, ha, just kidding!). So I've got the occasion now I just need the funding (I guess stealing is always an option?!) Actually, Tan would die for these dresses too as she is probably the girliest girl I know! x

She's a diva

This is my two-year old niece Eva being a diva on the dancefloor! x

Phillip Lim

When I was perusing the fabulous wares in The Corner Shop in Sydney, where I picked up my bargainous Vanessa Bruno dress, I had my first exposure to Phillip Lim's beautiful designs. I was drooling, my sister can vouch for it, but I sadly left empty-handed. Well, no Phillip Lim in my hands anyway. Here are a few looks from the resort 2010 collection for you to enjoy, showcased by women who appear to be standing on each others heads in some bizarre circus balancing act. Aren't I funny? x

Beware of the necklace

This is a bit cool I think? Could be dangerous though. x

Pretty woman

This is my darling friend Tess. I managed to get a couple of quick shots of her when we were having breaky at the Wild Fig back in Perth. She was a reluctant subject, which is just silly because she's so pretty! Tess moved over to London around the same time as me, summer 2006, but she's moved home now. She was a constant in my London life so it feels weird without her. I miss her loads! x

Pages and pages

Here is a treat for your inbox, if you don't have enough bombarding you already! Pages is a super-rad online magazine, hailing from Australia. It launched in January 2004 to much acclaim, which prompted its publishing house, PagesDigital, to add another couple of top-draw rags to its collection and begin touting itself as a 'newsagent in your inbox'. I've been getting Pages 'delivered' for ages now but I just 'flicked through' (he, he) the February issue, which is particularly fabulous. I love all the fashion and wanted to post on the editorial, which features clothes from the likes of Zimmermann and Marnie Skillings, but couldn't manage to pilfer the images. Oh well, you'll have to check them out yourself by going to the linky link above. x

Time team

I adore this watch! The clutch, by Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton, is pretty hot too. But I NEED this watch. Don't know who it's by but the fact this chic madam is holding said purse implies it ain't gonna be cheap. Sigh. If anyone is feeling generous, my address is 54 Highbury Park London... he he. It's actually kind of similar to the Michael Kors one I bought James a couple of years back. Perhaps I should just steal his? I'm sure he won't mind!? x

Postcards from Rio...

... just kidding, I'm still in London. And these aren't my photos, I'm ripping off Garance Dore's again. Sorry. It's just I absolutely adore the ones she took on her recent escapade to the Brazilian capital. Both these shots are from Ipanema beach. I am also tossing up whether to go to South America later in the year. I know I mentioned Central America the other day but now the traveling thing is all up in the air. If anyone ever needed an incentive though, I'm sure you'll agree these photos would get you on a plane before you could say Copacabana!! I particularly love the sunset shot below. For some reason I can't ever manage sunsets on my camera. They just don't come out. Any tips Nikon lovers? x
